Fearing that Sharifs reamarks could damage the party and marr their electoral fortunes, many lawmakers of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) during a parliamentary committee meeting, complained to Nawaz Sharifs younger brother and party chief Shahbaz, also the Chief Minister of Pakistans Punjab province.
Lawmakers apprised Shehbaz of the issues faced by them and the negative atmosphere following Nawaz Sharifs controversial statement on the Mumbai attacks, Geo TV reported, quoting sources as saying.
In his remarks at the meeting, the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif said that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, PML-N put the country on the track of development and prosperity.
The lawmakers also said the statement has intensified the clash between the state institutions.
