See Andy Serkis and an incredible cast bring the jungle to new life October 19, 2018 in theaters.
Master of motion capture, Andy Serkis is helming the project and he also plays the character of Baloo.
As mentioned above, Andy Serkis directed the film from a screenplay by Kallie Cloves.
We are introduced to the panther, Bagheera, voiced by Bale.
"I'm not a man, but neither am I a wolf", Mowgli responds before Cate Blanchett's sinister snake Kaa chimes in, "I think we can both agree, Mowgli, that you are something the jungle has never seen before".
Playing the titular role, Rohan Chand is confused but fearless at the same time.
This isn't your children's Jungle Book.
"It has a much darker approach to the storytelling, there's no singing or dancing by the animals that's for sure", he continued. However, Serkis' film is filled with talented actors, and the trailer makes the film look like it will truly be a attractive and compelling take on Kipling's classic novel.
It's still unlikely that this film will hit the heights of its more established Disney story, but it will be nice to finally get a different take on the popular fiction on movie screens.
Unlike The Jungle Book, wherein the movie retold the tale of how Mowgli adapted to the jungle, Mowgli attempts to tell the lesser shared story about what happens after he becomes a part of the green land.
The trailer is an intriguing montage of Mowgli's struggle of survival - sometimes in the taxing, brutal forest and sometimes in an unforgiving human company.
Serkis - who created The Imaginarium Studios production company which specialises in motion capture technology - admits morphing the actors likenesses with the animals they play provided a wealth of unique challenges.
