In a related news, Airtel has now chose to focus on post-FUP speed now, as they have raised their barrier, and offering 126 Kbps of post-FUP speed. It allowed unlimited calls and 100 SMSes per day. The unlimited calls include all local calls, all std calls and all roaming incoming, outgoing calls. All they need to pay is Rs 99 per month. Initially, these were available at a speed of 128Kbps, made available for most prepaid plans.
Back in March, Airtel introduced its Rs 995 pack, which was one of the first prepaid pack offer the truly unlimited experience for voice calls.
Interestingly, Airtel added around 6000 new landline users in the month of December, 2017, and their growth rate in this niche is admirable.
Airtel Raises Post-FUP Internet Speed!
The changes to the Airtel FUP policy were reported by TelecomTalk earlier. Now, users will still retain internet access, but at a lowered speed of 128 Kbps.
After the launch of the BSNL Prepaid plan 39 that offers unlimited calls, now the state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has launched a new prepaid plan 118 for its prepaid users with free unlimited calling benefit and data usage. the new plan launched by BSNL will directly compete with the Jio Plan 98 that offers unlimited calling and 2GB data. On the other hand, Reliance Jio's Rs 98-plan offers 2GB of 4G VoLTE data with unlimited calls-local, STD and national roaming- across India along with 300 free SMS for a period of 28 days. So for instance, if you're on the Rs. 199 pack that presently offers 1.4GB data per day, you'll no longer need to recharge for a separate pack once you exceed the 1.4GB quota and will receive data at a speed of 128Kbps after surpassing the daily limit. For Airtel, users can expect these services on most prepaid data plans, such as those worth Rs 199, Rs 249, Rs 349, Rs 399, Rs 448 and above.
