Another update in the investigation into alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur on Monday morning may shed some light on the identity of an unidentified, deceased man believed to be another one of his victims. The dismembered remains of all the victims - except for Majeed Kayhan - were found in them.
Idsinga said that Kanagaratnam was the man in the photo, but he declined to say how police came by the image. They did not immediately release his name as next of kin were being notified. Sgt. Hank Idsinga said at the time was a "last resort" to identify the victim, now identified as Kanagaratnam.
Investigators released the photograph of the man on March 5 and asked for the public's help in identifying him.
Idsinga said Kanagaratnam, who was identified with the help of an unnamed global agency, was allegedly killed between September and December 2015. But Idsinga confirmed last week the man may not be from Toronto, adding investigators had been following up with some global agencies in relation to the man's photo.

Toronto Police say Bruce McArthur, right, has now been charged in the murder of Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam, left. Later that month, McArthur was charged with the murders of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi, and Dean Lisowick.
Police, at the time, also announced they are now investigating 15 cold cases between 1975 and 1997.
Last week, police added a seventh charge of first-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Abdulbasir Faizi, who disappeared from Toronto's gay village in 2010.
Investigators are expected to release more details, including the identity of the man and potential further criminal charges, during a news conference at Toronto police headquarters at 10:30 a.m. ET.
