The highly anticipated Deadly Class series from Joe and Anthony Russo has been officially picked up by Syfy. Now that the show is confirmed for release, fans can only speculate when The Russo Brothers' Deadly Class will be in session.
Deadly Class creator Rick Remender adapted the comic to television alongside Miles Orion Feldsott (American Koko); both will serve as executive producers alongside Joe and Anthony Russo and Mike Larocca (Spy).
Syfy has chose to add a new series, Deadly Class, to its lineup. It follows a homeless teenager who is recruited into an elite private school run by the world's criminal elite with strict ethical and moral codes and a social environment that could literally leave any one of the students dead.
The Deadly Class pickup follows the recently announced series order for space thriller Nightflyers, based on author George R.R. Martin's novella, and the successful recent series launches of Krypton, which premiered to more than 2.6 million viewers, and Happy!, the twisted adaptation of Grant Morrison's graphic novel, starring Christopher Meloni and Patton Oswalt. "Our producing partners expertly combined high school angst, "80s nostalgia, and comic flair into a beautifully realized, visually arresting pilot that truly brings Rick and Wes" acclaimed comic series to life" (via Variety).
The series will star Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval star.
Syfy continues to make an aggressive push genre fare. Let us know in the comments!
