The Reds, inspired by Salah, booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals with a win at Manchester City on Wednesday (AEST), but their attention returned to domestic action in a victory that puts pressure on second-placed rival Manchester United.
Asked which he would prefer, the PFA gong or the European Cup, Salah told reporters: "I have no doubt. the Champions League".
Salah added, "Winning the Champions League is huge for everyone". I don't care about the rest.
Still there remained very little goal threat at the other end, with Jermain Defoe anonymous, allowing Salah time to finally find his range. It's in his mind and he says his teammates are doing all they can to ensure he collects the prestigious individual accolade.
"Of course (the golden boot) is in my mind. I can not lie - it is in my mind", he explained. "But you can see against Bournemouth that everyone in the team tries to pass the ball to me to help me", said the 25-year-old.
Salah also becomes just the third Liverpool player to score 40 goals in all competitions in a single season.
"We are a team and we have got to play together and if he does it he does it, we will all be happy for him, but I don't think we are going to focus too much on it".
A less heralded aspect of the England midfielder's repertoire was also significant as he provided the assist for Mane's opening goal.
