Right after an episode, all fans want to do is chat with fellow fans about what just happened, so one of our favorite things is that we can continue sitting on the couch as Talking Dead kicks off straight away! Specifically, after killing off the Junkyard Gang, he's now ready to turn his guns on Hilltop and remove that particular thorn from the side of the Saviors.
By far the most interesting strand was one that appeared to break with comic book canon in the most significant way yet (see the big question below), and provided some much needed levity in a series that has all but abandoned it. House Of Cards Jayne Atkinson plays Georgie, a mysterious new character who agrees to trade food and supplies for records with Maggie and the Hilltop crowd.
Will Negan's Biological Warfare Plan Work on The Walking Dead? . Negan isn't just captured, he's also out of control of his incredibly powerful forces, and in that power vacuum, a murderous (though supremely entertaining) sociopath has taken the reins. It is Simon's fault that she has so much rage toward Negan, and while he might be able to convince her that slaughtering the Scavengers went strictly against his direct orders, it won't soothe her bloodlust. Rather than signal to Daryl, he decides to give chase when he notices that Negan is driving his own vehicle.
Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it's not enough. Negan is driving himself, alone - a bucket of zombie blood is riding shotgun with him, and he keeps fondling a bloody Lucille. Rick immediately opens fire on Negan as he climbs out of the flipped-over auto.
Rick, fresh off burying his son Carl and hearing Negan tell him that it was all Rick's fault, finally found Negan and cut him off as The Saviors were on their way to battle the survivors at The Hilltop.
Inside, Rick runs out of bullets, so he decides to throw his ax at Negan, who manages to avoid the ax but drops Lucille a couple floors down. He spots the caravan of Saviors (with gut-coated weapons) on their to send yet another message to the Hilltoppers, and instead of calling for backup, he runs Negan off the road and chases him into a building to try and kill him. He says everything can go back to the way it was, with the communities trading with Negan, and no one else has to die. As he and Dwight discussed the strategy of another attack on the Hilltop, Rick took Negan out of the equation. Of course, Rick doesn't take the deal. We're not sure what those could be right now, but we do know it's likely that Carl Grimes won't be the last major casualty this year. With vengeance on the brain, Rick may find his leadership is in its death throes. Enid struggles as well, and understandably so; she's still just a kid, and her only friend and love interest is dead. Negan pops out, and the two fight as flaming walkers surround them. Neither die; Negan gets Lucille and tumbles out the window. But while the Savior leader escapes, it's out of the fire and into the frying pan as he wakes up in a moving vehicle driven by Jadis who's holding him at gunpoint. The scenes between Dwight and Simon were fun, and you've got to enjoy Dwight casually torching Negan's auto. Just move on. Simon suggests stopping the search for Negan entirely. As Simon (Steven Ogg) and Dwight (Austin Amelio) discussed Negan's leadership, Rick's SUV barreled down a side alley and knocked Negan out of formation, leading to an epic vehicle chase between the two - which is something you don't see much of in the zombie apocalypse, to be honest.
Simon and Dwight move through the city, looking for Negan. They fight for each other, against each other and against a legion of the dead, all to somehow build an existence amid the crushing pressure of lives coming apart. Dwight doesn't really see this as a bad option, but he doesn't necessarily agree with Simon either.
Simon rallies the troops when he and Dwight return empty-handed without Negan, but he reminds them they are all Negan.
However, Simon says they will first destroy the community and everyone in it. "They are a mistake, one we shall erase!"
