Jeffries unofficially visited United Kingdom on October 13, 2017, to attend Big Blue Madness along with Zion Williamson, Bol Bol and Immanuel Quickley.
When junior D.J. Jeffries came to the Marshall County Hoopfest, he said it was an "honor" to have Kentucky coach John Calipari make the trip to watch him play.
"For right now, I am set on Kentucky", Jeffries said.
"People in Kentucky, they love their basketball team".
United Kingdom basketball has its first major recruit for the 2019-2020 basketball season. "They (UK fans) might see me in a couple of years". He picks United Kingdom over Alabama and Mississippi State. He's a good passer, too. "I like his energy", says Daniels. He's also an athletic prospect who can play in transition.
Jeffries played for former National Basketball Association star Penny Hardaway's AAU team a year ago that also included James Wiseman, the best player in the 2019 recruiting class and UK's top recruiting target. "Keep in mind that he's still very young".
'He really does whatever we need him to do. He helped Olive Branch win the Class 5A state title last week and had 20 points, and five rebounds in the title game after having 20 points, five rebounds and five blocks in the semifinals when Calipari was at the game.

The commitment from Jeffries to United Kingdom on Monday night is not yet binding - he won't be able to sign with the Cats until November - but it's great news for Kentucky that he chose to go ahead and publicly side with the Wildcats despite the possibility his travel team mentor might be the next coach of his local university.
Nearly 10 years later, it looks like Memphis' loss will once again be UK's gain. "I feel like that's something I want to be a part of", Jeffries said during Hoopfest.
