"I don't need to tell you", Baldwin told Fallon about Trump immersion, "it gets exhausting after a while".
Baldwin then responded with his own jab on Twitter.
On Monday's episode of The Tonight Show, the 59-year-old actor referred to their Twitter feuds as "surreal".
"It is kind of surreal", Baldwin said in response.
Baldwin went on to muse on how he thinks the former "Apprentice" star finds the time to lash out on Twitter. Like is he there, as they say, watching Fox & Friends in the morning, he's got like his triple order of bacon...and he's got his phone and he's watching the news and he's in his boxers and his bathrobe and he's *tweeting tweeting*...
Baldwin also joked about Trump's frequent use of social media and wondered if it takes him away from running the country, "Hold on one minute, Alec Baldwin is a loser", he said with a laugh. "Does he tweet throughout the day or is it like a big binge thing?"
"Everybody knows that ['SNL" producer Lorne Michaels] came to me and I thought we were going to do it for three weeks in the fall", Baldwin explained.
There are many reasons for Saturday Night Live's surge in the ratings over the last two seasons, but arguably the biggest contributing factor is Alec Baldwin's Emmy-winning impression of President Donald Trump.
Fallon then read many of Trump's recent tweets attacking the actor, describing him as having a "dying mediocre career" that was resurrected by "his bad impersonation". Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch.
