The announcement was made by Capcom on their official website, providing all of the details on the character and his various moves.
Blanka is one of the more memorable characters introduced by the "Street Fighter" series, and he will remain as quite the unique roster member in this latest installment of the franchise. As his backstory goes, Blanka eventually found his way to civilization and reunited with his mother, Samantha.
Blanka launches with his own story chapter, which sees him approached by a suspicious salesman looking to make a doll based on his likeness. To commemorate the occasion, Capcom dropped a gameplay trailer for the classic "World Warrior". He joins the party with his electricity attack, rolling attacks, and feral movements.
They also describe Blanka's capabilities in the game.
Blanka's back-story is interesting.
As for Blanka's other special moves, he will be able to apply the V-Skill named Coward Crouch that allows him to quickly evade a projectile attack and put himself in a position to strike. After the Coward Crouch, Blanka can execute either Wild Lift with a punch button or Raid Jump with a kick button. From there, he can follow up with a normal, special move, or even a Critical Art. Using Raid Jump, Blanka swiftly jumps in the air where he can use any mid-air attack to advance. Additionally, Jungle DynamoIt "powers up his Electric Thunder and changes the animation so Blanka steps forward while unleashing the electric current". He'll then rear back and charge his Rolling Attack, like a demented Sonic the Hedgehog, and then barrel into his opponent like a bowling ball.
- V-Trigger II: Lightning Beast - Lightning Beast unlocks a special move, Rolling Cannon (Direction + HP+HK), which can be performed after using Rolling Attack, Back Step Rolling, and Vertical Rolling.
The last of Blanka's special moves is his Dynamic Rolling Critical Art that is both powerful and spectacular.
Players can obtain Blanka starting on February 20 for $5.99 or with 100,000 Fight Money. You can see Blanka's Battle, Story, and Nostalgia costumes in the image gallery above. He was a big exclusion from the original Street Fighter V roster when the game was released two year ago. Along with the now available Sakura and upcoming Blanka, the pass will allow owners to play as Falke, Sagat, G, and Cody as they are released throughout the rest of 2018.
