Starbreeze Studios' "Payday 2", a four-player cooperative shooter that focuses on planning, staging, and performing massive heists, is headed for the Nintendo Switch later this week, but recent news has surfaced that the portable version of the game might be the most outdated one yet. However, it is worth mentioning that the numbers among Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 were extremely close this month, with the difference in revenue from the top console to the third one being of only 3%. It's a severely outdated version. The Reddit community was in an uproar over the version of the game coming to Switch after an early recipient reportedly streamed the game, according to Polygon.
It must be noted that console updates are slower when compared to the PC.
While Overkill stopped shy of stating if the game would ever be feature-complete on Switch, this at least gives customers some advance warning, and allows them to make more informed purchasing choices about the port. Payday 2 is still playable on the go at least, which for many may be enough to balance out the missing content. On the other hand, PCs recently got update 172, making the gap crystal clear. Starbreeze claims the rationale for this is due to using the build available at the time of console submission and stated future content updates are planned for the console. Hardware spendings were mainly driven by PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

This puts the Switch version in last position after all other console releases, which are already lagging behind PC in terms of updates.
Microsoft's Xbox One also had good news to share, as the console pulled record numbers of sales and revenue for a month of January.
"Also, I don't expect any patches for the Switch Version and nobody who buys it should either". Nintendo Switch video games sales for January were $517 million and this is 51% higher than the previous month.
