The Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Hero Vision Iron Man AR Experience is planned to retail for $49.99 (USD) and will be released sometime in Spring 2018, in order to tie in to Avengers: Infinity War, which will get a U.S. released on 4th May, 2018.
Fans can now experience what it feels like when Tony Stark puts on his Iron Man Suit as Hasbro launches its Augmented Reality Experience featuring the Marvel character. Once the app is fired up and your gauntlet is strapped on, out of those markers spring your adversaries, who threaten your own safety - not to mention the safety of NY - while Thanos taunts you from an interdimensional portal high above. Called Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Hero Vision Iron Man AR Experience, it includes an Iron Man Mask, AR Goggles, an AR Gauntlet, 3 AR markers, and 1 Infinity Stone for a consumable amount of $49.99.
The $50 (roughly converting to £35, AU$65) set pairs with a free app, which is activated after scanning an Infinity Stone token. A special app brings the Iron Man experience to live.
When ready, the game lets players push their arm in front of them. That motion fires blasts at your attackers or, when you lift your hand with the palm facing your helmet, powers up your shields. Thanos and his army spawn anywhere the AR markers have been placed.
Users will have to set up their play area by placing down included AR makers that the phone's camera will track.
The Iron Man Hero Vision mask is basically an ordinary Iron Man helmet with a removable sleeve for your phone, similar to Google Cardboard, Google Daydream View, or the Samsung Gear VR. Also, the app doesn't use Apple's ARKit technology on the iPhone, nor is the internet needed to create the experience.
Hey, kids! Do you remember how cool Iron Man was when he first appeared?
Hero Vision is scheduled to go on sale this spring.
Hero Vision is being debuted in time for Toy Fair 2018, which will take place in New York City starting this Friday.
