Fortunately, this delay wasn't the only We Happy Few news the developers had to share. The reason is that they aren't satisfied with the first few hours of the game. The Early Access version has been available to anyone who pre-purchased the game on Steam. Players will need to moderate their intake of the drug in order to see the world around them as it truly is, while behaving in a way that does not draw suspicion.
Later in the video, Compulsion also reveals part of the narrative for the game's second main character, Sally, which you can view around the two-minute mark.
Compulsion "went back to the drawing board" for intro to Arthur's story. The game's producer, Sam Abbott had this to say about the delay, "There are these moments that are memorable, very amusing, and super weird and we're really excited to show you all". Specifically, the studio is working on implementing "major improvements" to the beginning of the story for Arthur, one of the playable characters in the game. But we felt that the first two hours of Arthur's story just didn't live up to those moments, meaning that the game didn't start as well as it should. It is set to feature three narrative campaigns, however it was one of these that caused the team to pause and reevaluate their release date of We Happy Few.
What do you think of the delay and the introduction of Sally?
