Ensminger returns to a job in which he held for eight games in 2016 in the interim before returning to tight ends coach under newly hired OC Matt Canada this previous year.
National Football League veteran Greg McMahon was named special teams coordinator for the Tigers, the school announced on Friday.
"This is a job I worked my entire career for", said. In loses, it's averaged 5-points a game. It will be my offence, my direction, my terminology. I'm the one guy who knows the players - the receivers, the quarterbacks, the offensive linemen.
LSU's offence has revolved around the run for most of the past 10 seasons. Sullivan's exact title is unclear, but he is likely to have a heavy hand in the Tigers' passing game. That was in 2013, when the receiver corps included future National Football League starters Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, and Zach Mettenberger passed for 251 yards per game.
McMahon spent the 2017 season as analyst for the Tigers. Senior quarterback Danny Etling accounted for most of those yards. "We did that with Steve Ensminger at the helm, and we're going to do it again". "Our strength on offense right now is our receivers". So, we have to put three and four wide receivers out there and be (run-pass option) with no-huddle. "You still have to be able to be physical and run the ball".
Besides losing Etling, LSU will replace its top two rushers - Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams - and its top two receivers - DJ Chark and Russell Gage. "He is 100 percent committed to LSU".
"We have one of the best pure passers in Myles Brennan and we have two dual-threat quarterbacks", added.
According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Ed Orgeron has found a replacement offensive coordinator at LSU.
