"On Thursday Liam Neeson appeared to be coming out on the side of the anti-sexual harassment "#MeToo" and "Time's Up" movements when he argued in an interview over the importance of equal pay. "There are some people - famous people - being suddenly accused of touching some girl's knee or something, and suddenly have been dropped from their program or something".
Keillor was sacked by Minnesota Public Radio late past year over allegations of "inappropriate behavior with an individual who worked with him".
"He was listening to a sad story from a female friend of his", said Neeson, relaying Keillor's version of events. And she had a blouse on and it was her bare back, I don't know what the blouse was like, and he immediately took his hand away and apologised. "And he was dropped like that".
"The Dustin Hoffman thing, I'm on the fence about that", said Neeson after a pause. "Everyone says 'oh, you're an actor, you should be good at that.' It's just not true", Neeson said. It becomes superstitious, if you don't do it every night you think it's going to jinx the show.
Neeson then donwplayed the suggestion that Hoffman groped a woman's breast, describing it as "childhood stuff".
Dustin Hoffman has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, of exposing himself to a minor and of sexual harassment. He was confronted about his alleged behaviour by Last Week Tonight host John Oliver during an extraordinary public exchange in December.
"There's a lot of discussion about it, and a lot of healthy and necessary discussion about it because the disparity sometimes is f-ing disgraceful", Neeson told the Associated Press when discussing the gender wage gap in Hollywood. So yeah, it's not been a great week for his personal brand.
