All this continued till a lady dentist, who employed this 14-year-old girl as a domestic help, was arrested on Friday by Delhi Police from her residence in an upscale north Delhi locality.
The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), along with the Delhi police, rescued the teen from a house in northeast Delhi's Model Town area after a call on their helpline number informed that she was illegally confined there for the last few months. A neighbour had made the call.
She added, "On receiving the complaint, we teamed up with Delhi Police and conducted the raid. The girl was in a terrible condition", said Swati Jaihind, chairperson of DCW.
The girl belongs to Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Sources claimed that the accused, Dr Nidhi Chaudhary, allegedly a MDS Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, is reportedly practising in a Delhi government hospital. The doctor has been arrested and the girl, in accordance with the orders of the Child Welfare Committee, will be kept in a children's home. "The employer also used to bite the girl's face", goes the statement.
The couple has been residing in the locality from the past two-and-a-half years, and maids corroborate the abusive nature of the dentist. "She had deep marks, cuts and bruises all over her body".
The girl alleged her lady employer beat her up every day. Her employer had also attacked her eyes with scissors which were swollen and had severe bruise marks. "Little girl was confined 2 house, not given sweater, food & hs been reduced 2 bones (sic)", she said in another tweet. "Her lady employer so vicious". "The lady employer spat at the girl regularly and encouraged her children to do so too", a DCW official said, quoting the rescued girl's ordeal. "Should be given maximum punishment!"
