Masterwork weapons have already been in Destiny 2 for a while, and you get them the same way: Legendary items have a chance of dropping as a Masterwork, or you can upgrade any Legendary to a Masterwork.
On its official website Bungie has detailed the changes coming to its shooter Destiny 2, the biggest of which is the return of Lord Saladin to the Tower in Season 2 for an Iron Banner event starting on January 30 that lets you earn Season 2 weapons in Iron Banner engrams. Another possible reward is an Iron Banner ship, but Bungie isn't revealing what it will look like, choosing to save it as a surprise for lucky players to discover for themselves. A new emblem can be earned by completing the Iron Banner Milestone, and it will showcase a player's lifetime Iron Banner rank ups.
Items from previous seasons may also be rewarded for players that missed them the first time around. Lastly, armor stats can be reworked. Like Masterwork Weapons, players will have a higher chance to acquire Masterwork Armor from Trials of the Nine and Raids. It will also introduce Masterwork versions of armor pieces, a counterpart to the Masterwork weapons that debuted in December. You'll be able to rework your Masterwork armor to a different stat package for one Masterwork Core and 10 Legendary Shards.
In addition, the company is adding new mods to Raids that provide specific perks tied in with certain pieces of gear. Finally, they all are Legendary mods, meaning that you'll still get the five Power bonus for using them. Additionally, Raid encounters will now always drop a Raid gear piece so that players won't be left with nothing after completing an encounter.
Moreover, Bungie is unifying the loot drop tables in both raids so that any item can drop from any encounter, with a few exceptions. The ghost shell can drop from the final encounter in Leviathan or Eater of Worlds. The ghost shell will come with three unique perks themed around the two raids. This Ghost will give Raid encounters the chance to drop Bright Engrams, and a 50 percent boost to the chance of getting a new Exotic to drop. The chance increases every time a Bright Engram fails to drop.
Raid Rewards are being overhauled to make them more meaningful.
