Some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress from the South East have assured President Muhammadu Buhari of their support in the 2019 Presidential election.
President Muhammadu Buhari meeting with delegation of APC leaders from South-East at the state house in Abuja.
He distanced himself from those endorsing the president for a second term.
Briefing State House Correspondents, Onu said that the delegation to the Presidency was high-power and the President was very happy about the visit.
On a recent media report that Buhari has re-appointed the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as the Director-General of his campaign organisation, Adesina said such an appointment could only be made after a candidate had emerged.
He added that the Bridge was not just for the South East but for the whole country.
"He was very happy because you can see the caliber of people in this delegation, a very high-powered delegation", he said.
"We beseech Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the state governor; Chief Pius Akinyelure, the APC national vice chairman (South West), and Engr".
Asked if the meeting which was less than 10 minutes was all about politics and nothing on what is bothering the south east, Onu said, "Oh yes".
The Minister added that the delegation also talked about the needs of the zone after commending the President on what efforts he was making to ensure that infrastructure development in the South East was improved. "That was what he told me and I was very disappointed".
"We then thanked him that the people of the South East are very enterprising people; when you are building a railway network it is important that major commercial towns are linked up by rail and also gas distribution."
