Motivational speaker Turia Pitt and fiancé Michael Hoskin have welcomed their baby boy into the world.
'Michael and I want to introduce you to someone....' Turia started her newsletter.
"We'll be in this little newborn bubble for a few weeks", she wrote.
'We are totally in love, and just so stoked!' she added.
Australian burns survivor Turia Pitt has given birth to a baby boy named Hakavai. "Meet Hakavai Hoskin", she wrote.
Hakavai is a word in the Shona language, spoken in Zimbabwe, that means "will be".
Pitt suffered 65 per cent burns to her body when she was trapped by a bushfire during the Kimberley ultra marathon in 2011.
"We're frothing to meet you Baby Hoskin!" she wrote on Instagram.
She lost seven fingers and spent six months in hospital where she underwent over 200 operations.
So has the obvious love between Pitt and her "beautiful partner Michael", who has been a devoted partner throughout both her long and painful rehabilitation, and her pregnancy.
She acknowledged that with any big change approaching, there's a certain element of uncertainty.
'I write a list of all the bad things that could happen - it's going to hurt, I don't know if I can do it, what if I can't handle the pain. "That one day I'll be able to watch him surfing, diving and hanging with Michael".
"I want my son to be resilient", she told us.
"As my due date gets closer, more people have been asking how I'm feeling about the birth".
She noted that given the choice of looking at any situation in a negative or empowering way, she choses the empowering way.
'If I look at it in the empowering way, I feel better - so that's the way I choose, ' Turia concluded.
