Tina Fey, the film's writer and producer, made a decision to adapt her iconic movie for the stage.
"I don't really know much about it", she said. In 2016, the actress told CNN that she has "been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2", adding that, "It is not in my hands..."
"That is what will make you truly happy".
"I'm here in NY, so Tina Fey better be hiding or I'm going to find her and Lorne Michaels".
The "Freaky Friday" actress, who recently moved to Dubai, later told Entertainment Tonight that she returned to NY for the holidays, but doesn't plan on moving back to the states anytime soon. "I know where his desk is", Lohan joked.
"I love living in NY, but I do love the serenity and peace that I find living in the Middle East because there are no cameras in Dubai and I can actually focus on what I want to do in life", she said.
"I don't always have to be scrutinised every second. I don't think anyone could even be in a relationship with me because I'm never there all the time".
