Jos-Kidnappers of the former Minister of Sports and Plateau State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Damishi Sango, have reportedly called the family to demand N100 million ransom, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, John Akans, has confirmed.
Meanwhile, the party has, in a statement issued yesterday afternoon, charged the security agents to ensure that the party chairman, who was kidnapped alongside another chieftain of the party, Chief Emmanuel Mangni, his (Sango) son, his driver and orderly, is safely released. But at about 6p.m., when someone called one of the persons Sango travelled with, a policeman picked the call and told him (caller) that they found the phone in a vehicle abandoned on the road. "His kidnappers want N100 million", Jonathan Mapis, a family member, told newsmen on Thursday in Jos.

"Yes, it is true, the abductors of Hon Damishi T. Sango are demanding a ransom of N100m", he said.
Mapis quoted Sango as telling family members that the five of them were safe. From what they demanded, we are waiting to see whether they will come down from tomorrow.
Asked if he suspected whether the incident had any link with the PDP convention or if the abductors were Fulani herdsmen, Akans said it could be the normal case of kidnapping as there was insecurity in the country. "I'm on my way to Abuja".
He said, "The Jere Road has been a flashpoint and Kaduna State is a den of kidnappers".
"We have send a team to the State Police headquarters to report the matter".
"On reaching the vehicle, they found a telephone belonging to his son in the auto. The man has been kidnapped and efforts are on to secure his freedom", he said.
