Indonesian Miss of Environment and model Kevin Lilliana, 21, was crowned Miss International 2017 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall, Japan, on Tuesday (14/11).
De Leon, daughter of screen veterans Christopher De Leon and Sandy Andolong, joined Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) once in 2013 before being named the country's representative in the global competition this year.
The pageant, which was held in Tokyo, Japan was livestreamed through the pageant's website. Reports say the Miss International 2017 victor was named after Kevin McCallister, the lead character (played by a young Macaulay Culkinin) in the blockbuster movie "Home Alone". "I still can't believe it".
Indonesia beat 69 other candidates during the pageant to win the crown. "It's a dream come true", Lilliana said after her crowning took place.
Philippine's Mariel de Leon ended her journey early in the beauty pageant.
Other contestants who managed to reach the top 8 were from Ecuador, Japan, Laos, United Kingdom, and Australia. The daughter of Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong failed to make a spot in the Top 15.

Among the special awards, the Best National Costume was awarded to Natsuki Tsutsui of Japan, Miss Perfect Body went to Amber Dew, Australia and Best Dressed was awarded to Kevin Lilliana, Indonesia.
