Whitney Houston's iconic soundtrack album The Bodyguard is set to be released in a special 25th anniversary edition featuring never heard before material. It includes an alternate mix of the hit single from the film, "I Will Always Love You" (a cover of the Dolly Parton song), as well as live performances from Houston's 1993-'95 The Bodyguard tour, including a version of the song "Run to You" that she rarely performed.
Legacy Recordings (in cooperation with The Estate of Whitney E. Houston) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album with the release of Whitney Houston - I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard on November 17, 2017. Executive produced by Houston and Clive Davis, the soundtrack was the first album to sell more than 1 million copies in one week, according to Nielsen Music. In addition, alternate versions of the song "The Bodyguard" from the film, and a "I'm Every Woman" remix.
On Nov. 4, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, which served as a backdrop for much of the 1992 blockbuster, where Houston performed "I Have Nothing" and "I Will Always Love You", will celebrate with an invite-only listening party and movie screening, as well as special activities throughout the resort. A complete track list can be found here.
"The album will be available on CD and digital on November 17th, as well as a limited edition 2LP 12" purple vinyl edition, to be released at a later date. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will reissue The Bodyguard film on October 31.
