Eight months is a long time when one looks at the political hyperactivity in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Sasikala returned to jail at the stipulated time, said the Central Jail superintendent.
chennai/12-October-2017 (News release India): AIADMK leader VK Sasikala's five-day parole for visiting her husband in a hospital ended yesterday, now she will have to return to Parappana Agrahara central jail in Bengaluru by today. Sasikala was ousted from the party last month by Chief Minister K Palaniswami-led camp. On all five days of her parole period, she had visited her husband, M Natarajan, who underwent organ transplantations on October 4 and a tracheostomy two days later.
Large number of people used to wait day and night outside the residence of Krishnapriya, Ilavarasi's (Sasikala's jail mate and sister-in-law) daughter, and at the Gleneagle Global hospital- where Natrajan is undergoing treatment. She named newborns babies of party workers during her hospital visits by halting her vehicle on the way of Hospital.
A close confident of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, Sasikala is serving a four-year sentence since February 15 after the Supreme Court on February 14 upheld her conviction in a corruption case by a trial court in September 2015 here.
For prisoner 3295 (Sasikala), the roads were filled with AIADMK party workers who had come to see off their chinamma. Within the first few kilometres from Krishnapriya's residence, Sasikala's vehicle was stopped by women supporters who organised an "aarti" and broke coconuts in front of the auto.
Well, if this was not enough, just meters ahead of the Raj Bhavan in Chennai, the convoy was again stopped by a small group of people with the party flag in their hands and raising praises for Sasikala. But it was fascinating to see how the party cadres wanted to bid a grand farewell to their leader. One of those proud parents told me: "How many children have the good fortune to be named by Chinnamma?" It's hard to say anything at the moment. "When she returns, the throne will be waiting for her".
