You can check out a video showing off the new fan requested improvements below. It sounds like Capcom is taking its mission to improve the game seriously.
Dead Rising 4 is now available on Xbox One and PC, with the PlayStation 4 version launching on December 5. That content is also coming to the Windows PC and Xbox One versions. According to the team, this update will add new weapons for Maniacs - that suit their character - improve their AI and will allow Frank reward to get a Maniac's weapon after defeating him/her. The AI that drives the Maniacs is also being improved to provide players with an even greater challenge. Human enemy AI is being improved for all types, making them better at using cover, blocking attacks with shields, and countering players who might rely on a single attack.
One of the bigger updates coming to the game involves Dead Rising 4's human enemies, also known as maniacs (and something we criticized in our review of the game).
Instead of just going to save the survivors, Capcom is introducing six side missions called Distress Calls, which are scripted missions Frank will have to complete in order to find and rescue the survivors. Once he's accomplished the assigned task, Frank will have to protect the survivor from the zombie hordes as they make their way to a safe location.
Capcom Vancouver is also working on other tweaks to the game, including "improved controller responsiveness, faster attack speed, faster zombie horde awareness, more aggressive pursuit, rebalanced weapon distribution, improved zombie AI, mission tuning and more".
In a recent blog post at Capcom's site, the studio acknowledged that the have been listening to fans to see what improvements could be made to Dead Rising 4, and they are starting by adding two harder difficulty modes into the game, which will appear in another update a month after the game is out.
