Damore also created an addendum to the memo subtitled, "Reply to public response and misrepresentation", in which he calls for more discussion on the topic.
On Tuesday, Google announced it had fired Damore for violating its code of conduct.
He's planning to take "legal action" against Google.
His case would likely be weak, employment lawyers said, and some lawyers said Google could have faced lawsuits if it had not acted against him.
