The NissanConnect has been completely developed by Renault-Nissan technology centre in India.
NissanConnect is described as a 360-degree connected auto software application, which will connect the vehicle with the customer's family, Nissan network and NissanConnect community through the customer's smartphone. The platform will be made available for range of cars - Micra, Sunny, and Terrano.
"Nissan Intelligent Mobility encompasses three core areas of innovation - intelligent drive, intelligent power and intelligent integration", Mr. Malhotra said.
NissanConnect platform, which was developed by Renault-Nissan Alliance Technology Business Centre India (RNTBCI) that is located near Chennai, offers about 50 connected features with three years of free subscription and one year of additional Nissan warranty programme. The new information and communication platform is inspired by Nissan's Intelligent Mobility vision which aims at making the experience of driving more enjoyable, and driving more convinced, competent and exciting, NissanConnect is created to transform the vehicle into a more responsive driving partner for the users and provide a complete assurance of security and convenience. It enables better comfort, convenience, control and safety through technologies that bring people closer together. Inspired by Nissan's ground-breaking spirit, NissanConnect will be highly beneficial for Nissan users. Named as "NissanConnect", the integrated auto platform of the Japanese carmaker will facilitate drivers with informative and communication assistance while driving. The NissanConnect application is available for Android, Windows and iOS devices.
NissanConnect has a data-sheet that records and displays driving behaviour; it also tells the car's exact fuel efficiency.
Like Honda Connect, which provides the driver access to detailed information about Honda vehicles and driving-related data, NissanConnect too allows the driver access to a host of alerts for improved driveability.
