The Buckeyes released their full 2017-18 schedule on Wednesday - while the Big Ten released the conference schedule for all of its teams.
Another interesting change is that games will be played on each day of the week, no longer avoiding Mondays and Fridays and each team will play two Big Ten games on the first weekend of December.
The Nittany Lions were picked by the conference's coaches to finish ahead of Nebraska, who won last year's conference championship with an 18-2 mark. Minnesota will head to Rhode Island for its first road contest of the year November 13 before returning home to face head coach Marlene Stollings' former team, VCU, on November 16. Minnesota start the tournament against Wake Forest on Nov. 25, and take on either UNLV or Hofstra Nov. 26. It will be the Gophers' fifth meeting with the Tar Heels, and the first as part of the Challenge.
Minnesota starts the second month of the season with a December 3 home game against Eastern Michigan.
The Maroon and Gold's non-conference slate concludes at historic Williams Arena.
Minnesota will host Drake Dec. 11 in its final game before breaking for final exams.
Conference play starts on the road at Northwestern Dec. 28. Of note, the Iowa game is one of two Saturday home games during Big Ten play. They will return home to face Michigan State on January 7. Two days later, Northwestern will face defending conference champion Purdue on the road while IL hosts Maryland.
Ohio State will play the College of Wooster in an exhibition Sunday, Nov. 5 before the season opener at home against Robert Morris on Friday, Nov. 10.
On Monday, Dec. 4, IN will entertain the Hawkeyes, Michigan will travel to Ohio State and Penn State will host the Badgers. After traveling to Madison for the aforementioned matchup with the Badgers, Penn State closes that stretch at home against Rutgers (Jan. 18) and Illinois (Jan. 23). The change is to accommodate the 2018 Big Ten tournament, which will be held February 28-March 4 at Madison square Garden in New York City. Times and television designations will be announced later in the fall.
